The police department said the accident took place at about 10:35 p.m.

Police said a 2019 Acura, operated by a 27-year-old man, was driving east on Grant Avenue when a 2007 Honda, traveling west on Grant at a high rate of speed, went out of control and crossed the eastbound lanes.

The Acura hit the Honda in the rear passenger side quarter panel, police said.

The driver of the Acura was not injured.

There were five people in the Honda. The driver and three rear passengers were all ejected.

The rear passengers were taken to a hospital by Medics 38, 48 and 49. Two 17-year-old males are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. An 18-year-old male was taken to Abington Hospital and was listed in extremely critical condition with head and body trauma. He is unconscious. Another 18-year-old male was in extremely critical condition and on life support. The 19-year-old male driver was taken to Abington Hospital and is listed in critical but stable condition.

Police do not believe DUI played a role in the accident. ••
